TEMERLOH, April 6 – The ogranising of the Minggu Sains Negara 2018 (MSN 2018) offers Pahang community, including thousands of school children, university students and youth from Temerloh and several districts in the state the opportunity to learn on the importance and benefits of science education.
The organization of the MSN 2018 in Pahang is spearheaded by Technology Park Malaysia Corporation Sdn Bhd (TPM) in collaboration with the Pahang State Government.
With its theme, “Negaraku Berinovasi”, the two-day event is held at Dewan Tun Razak, Temerloh starting today.
MSN 2018 is a nationwide program initiated by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) which main event will were held at Pusat Sains Negara from 1-7 April 2018.
Pahang Menteri Besar YAB Dato’ Sri DiRaja Haji Adnan Bin Haji Yaakob was present to officially launch the event this morning.
Also present at the launching ceremony were the Chairman of State Tourism, Culture Committee, YB Dato’ Haji Mohd. Sharkar Bin Haji Shamsudin, Temerloh District Officer, YH Dato’ Mohd Fadzli Bin Mohd Kenali along with the MOSTI Deputy Secretary of STI, YBrs. Prof. Madya Dr. Ramzah Dambu, and TPM President/Chief Executive Officer, YBrs. Dato’ Ir. Mohd Azman Haji Shahidin.
Among the main attractions to this event are the special appearance by Angkasawan Malaysia, Upin Ipin meet and greet session, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) hands-on activities, lucky draws, F1 simulation machines, drones and robotics showcase. Malaysian celebrity, Shuib Sepahtu will also be meeting his fans on Friday.
Dato’ Ir. Mohd Azman said he is confident that TPM’s organisation of MSN 2018 in Pahang would offer its visitors both young and old every opportunity to gain a better knowledge of the efforts undertaken by the Government.
“With the rapid global development in technology and innovation, it is pertinent for the people in the rural and semi-urban areas of Pahang to also be exposed to latest developments and technological advancements towards improving their socio-economic wellbeing.
“We strongly believe in providing equal opportunity for every Malaysian to seize the opportunities in efforts to contribute to the socio-economic growth and transformation of the country. It is also to lend our support to technopreneurs and entrepreneurs towards enhancing the sustainable development and growth of their businesses,” he added.
The respective subsidiaries of TPM and its Landscape Department were also roped in to conduct STEM related programs for schoolchildren. TPM incubatees – REQA, Creative Minds and Average Drones are among the exhibitors.
