TECHNOLOGY PARK MALAYSIA TO SHARE ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT AT THE EASTERN EDITION OF BAHTERA 2018
KUANTAN, February 23 – Technology Park Malaysia Corporation Sdn Bhd (TPM) together with two of its biotechnology entrepreneurs hope to make their presence felt at the Eastern Edition of BAHTERA 2018 exhibition starting on February 24 in Kuantan, Pahang.
Noted as the nation’s leading technology park and driver of the technology and innovation, TPM will be sharing first-hand information about its facilities, services and expertise available to empower the development and growth of technopreneurship and entrepreneurship, as well as seizing opportunities in the biotechnology sector.
Apart from the showcase of its products and services by TPM Innovation Incubation Centre (TPM IIC) TPM Biotech Sdn Bhd (TPMB), TPM will also be involved in the series of pocket talks at the event.
The two-day Eastern Edition of BAHTERA 2018, an acronym of Bumipreneurs of Tomorrow is organized by the National Entrepreneurship Development Office, Ministry of Finance. Held at Kuantan, Pahang, it aims to heighten awareness and spur business opportunities among the Bumiputera community.
The event will be officiated by Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd. Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak.
TPM IIC will be led by its General Manager, ‘Azrai’ Shu’ib, who will be sharing his experience and knowledge at the pocket talk series on key fundamentals in sustaining businesses through coaching, mentoring, training and consultancy programmes. A team of four business counselors will be also present to offer their expert advice at a business consultation clinic.
Meanwhile Puan Ema Ukhtiah Zakaria, Head of TPMB will give details of the advantages of engaging TPMB’s product development and formulation, and production services.
In addition, visitors to the exhibition will also have the opportunity to learn about the expertise and services of TPM IIC and TPM Biotech as well TPM’s Technopreneur Facilitation Fund (TFF) for SME’s.
According to TPM President/Chief Executive Officer, YBhg. Dato’ Ir. Mohd Azman Haji Shahidin, he is confident that TPM’s participation at the first series of BAHTERA 2018 would be an eye-opener for the Bumiputera community to seize the opportunities from the various assistance provided by the relevant governmental Ministries and agencies to support and enhance sustainable development and growth of their businesses.
“TPM, as the enabler of science, technology and innovation (STI), has more than 20 years of experience in the cluster industry of ICT, biotechnology, engineering and renewable energy. It is our hope that more Bumiputeras, especially the new generation, would take greater efforts in exploring business opportunities through the STI initiatives,” he added.
The two biotechnology incubatees of TPM showcasing their products at BAHTERA 2018 are Mekaray Ventures Sdn Bhd and Muhammad Bin Omar Enterprise.
Mekaray Sdn Bhd produces health coffee beverage marketed under its brand name Meka Coffee which combines the finest ingredients of energy booster, chemical free and nano natural sugar. Meka Coffee is a 100% Malaysian-made product and formulated from Arabica coffee selected and blended with the finest ingredients of dates, figs, barley, Arabic gum and natural salt.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Bin Omar Enterprise is a sole proprietorship that processes and sells herbal health supplements. Established in February 2015, the company produces Teh Herba Sungkai or Sungkai Herbal Tea mixed with green tea.
To ensure that Teh Herba Sungkai products meet the stringent international quality control and recognition, the company has engaged the manufacturing services of TPM Biotech Sdn Bhd.
The scientific name of Sungkai tree is Peresema Canescens. It has bioactive content and active ingredient that contains biologically active secondary metabolites.The Sungkai Herbal Tea is currently distributed directly through its several agent network throughout the country.
